Hola Spanish Academy

A language school's real work starts at the enrolment: the fee, the calendar and the monthly payment. All three now happen on the website.

Natalia and Diego teach Spanish in small groups in Bishop's Stortford and one to one online, to students from twelve to ninety-five. Their old site was a few pages and little else, with no list of what the school actually teaches, so every enrolment happened by email and by phone: agreeing a course, chasing the registration fee, finding a time for a first lesson, setting up the monthly payment. For a school of two people that is the evening gone.

Enrolling now runs end to end on the page. A student picks how they want to learn and which course, then sets up a Direct Debit through GoCardless in a form that sits inside the site and is styled like the rest of it. Their bank details never touch the website. The moment the mandate is set up their place is held, and they book their tester lesson on the school's own calendar. Each step hands to the next on a signed link, so nobody reaches the booking step while they still owe the fee, and the same person cannot enrol twice by accident.

The calendar is the school's real availability, read from Calendly's API and drawn again in the site's own components, so a student books without leaving the page or opening a Calendly window. Behind it, the admin tells Natalia what each enrolment needs next, and the monthly plan starts on the Direct Debit the student already has, from one button, after the tester lesson. Prices are typed once on a price plan and every page reads them, so changing what a course costs is one edit rather than a hunt through the site.

Moving the school off Squarespace was part of the job. We built the new site on WordPress, moved the domain to the new host and set the school's email records up again there. Every old address still lands on the right page, so links already shared and results already in Google kept working from launch day.
